Job Description:
A Sonographer is a healthcare professional specializing in diagnostic imaging using ultrasound technology. They produce images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow to assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions. Sonographers play a crucial role in prenatal care, cardiology, and various medical specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images of organs, tissues, and fetuses.
- Prepare patients for examinations, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
- Analyze images and provide preliminary reports for physicians.
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound machines to ensure proper functionality.
- Adhere to safety guidelines, hygiene protocols, and professional standards.
- Keep detailed records of imaging procedures, findings, and patient information.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to support diagnosis and treatment plans.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent.
- Certification from a recognized body in medical sonography.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and technical proficiency with imaging equipment.
- Attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
