Job Summary

Africa Ocean Bridge Maritime Operations Group Ltd is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Account Officer to support the company’s financial and accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and company policies.

This role requires a highly organized professional with strong analytical skills, integrity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records and financial transactions.
  • Process invoices, payments, receipts, and expense records in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements, company accounts, and financial discrepancies regularly.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and monthly accounting summaries.
  • Maintain organized filing systems and proper documentation of accounting records.
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure timely processing and collection.
  • Support payroll preparation and statutory deductions where necessary.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting procedures and financial regulations.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and reports.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accuracy in accounting software systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.


Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in accounting or finance-related roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Knowledge of taxation, payroll processes, and statutory compliance is an added advantage.
  • Professional certification or part qualification (ACCA, ICA, CIMA, etc.) will be an advantage.
