As part of our expansion, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our Finance team and help drive our financial operations to the next level.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Accountant to maintain accurate and current financial records for our growing automation business. The ideal candidate will own the full accounting cycle—from processing transactions and reconciliations to managing payables and supporting payroll. This role requires a sharp eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with ERP systems to ensure our financial data remains precise and compliant.

Key Responsibilities (What You Will Own)

  • Transaction & Ledger Management: Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and maintained in the general ledger, keeping the company's financial records current and error-free.
  • Supplier & Payables Management: Process supplier invoices, manage payment schedules, and perform supplier reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate settlement of obligations.
  • Customer Invoicing & Receivables: Generate customer invoices, track receipts, and manage outstanding customer balances to optimise cash flow.
  • Bank & Cash Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations and cash reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and external statements.
  • Management Accounts & Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of management accounts and provide necessary documentation and support for both internal and external audits.
  • Payroll Support: Support the payroll function by providing accurate employee cost data and ensuring payroll transactions are properly accounted for.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial policies, tax regulations, and statutory requirements (VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree (Bachelor's) or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • Professional Certification: ACCA, CIMA, or ICA (Ghana) certification is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a similar industry (automation, engineering, manufacturing, or trading).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Tally, or similar) is mandatory.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modelling).

  • Accounting Principles: Strong understanding of financial accounting, bookkeeping, and reconciliation processes.
  • Numerical & Analytical Skills: High attention to detail with the ability to analyse data, identify discrepancies, and propose corrective actions.
  • Organisation & Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet strict reporting deadlines.
  • Bookkeeping Expertise: Solid experience in maintaining accurate books of accounts and managing the full accounting cycle.
  • Integrity & Confidentiality: High level of personal integrity and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
