Job Title: Branch Sales Manager – Insurance

Location: Kumasi Ghana
Department: Sales & Distribution
Reports To: Regional Sales Manager / Area Head

Position Overview

The Branch Sales Manager (BSM) is responsible for leading and managing the sales operations of the branch to achieve business targets, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain regulatory compliance. The BSM will drive growth through effective team management, strategic planning, and the execution of sales and marketing initiatives in line with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive branch sales performance to meet or exceed targets in life, health, or general insurance products.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through agents, advisors, and direct channels.
  • Implement local sales strategies and campaigns aligned with regional and national objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth areas.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of insurance advisors, relationship managers, or sales officers.
  • Set individual sales targets and monitor daily/weekly performance.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, reviews, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of motivation, accountability, and ethical selling practices.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Ensure high standards of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Resolve client queries and complaints effectively and promptly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and the local community.

Operational & Compliance Management

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and ensure timely reporting of branch performance.
  • Coordinate with other departments (claims, underwriting, finance) to support seamless operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (MBA or equivalent preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in sales, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
  • Certifications: IRDAI license preferred (or must be obtained within the probation period).
