Job Title: Branch Sales Manager – Insurance

Location: Kumasi
Reports To: Regional Sales Manager / Area Sales Head

Position Overview

The Branch Sales Manager (BSM) is responsible for overseeing all sales and business development activities at the branch level. This includes driving insurance product sales, managing and developing the sales team, achieving revenue targets, and ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development

  • Drive branch sales to achieve and exceed assigned business targets in life, health, and general insurance products.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to expand the customer base and increase market share.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, corporate partners, and local business communities.
  • Monitor local market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
  • Promote cross-selling and upselling of insurance products to maximize profitability.

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of insurance advisors, relationship managers, and frontline sales staff.
  • Set performance goals and monitor achievement on a regular basis.
  • Motivate and guide the team to deliver consistent results and maintain high engagement levels.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, training sessions, and field visits to support team development.

Customer Relationship & Service Excellence

  • Ensure superior customer experience by promoting transparent and ethical selling practices.
  • Address customer concerns and resolve service-related issues promptly.
  • Monitor policy renewals, claims, and customer retention activities.

Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure all branch operations adhere to company policies, procedures, and IRDAI regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reports on branch performance, sales, and financial activities.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (underwriting, claims, finance, HR) for seamless operations.
  • Safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of sales experience in the insurance or financial services industry, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or branch management role.
  • Skills:
    • Proven ability to lead and motivate sales teams.
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
    • Strategic planning and business acumen.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
  • Licensing: Valid IRDAI certification preferred (mandatory within probation if not already held).
