WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As Business Development Manager (BDM) at Hugo, you play a vital role in driving the growth and success of our organization. You can expect to get involved in strategic planning, sales management, and relationship building, all aimed at identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and supporting the Sales and Revenue teams
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying key business opportunities through market research to recognize emerging trends, potential clients, and competitive landscapes to find areas for growth and formulate strategies to capitalize on these opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to come up with innovative campaigns to bring in new business/ clients and opportunities
  • Engage in the sales process, which includes generating leads, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
  • Represent Hugo by attending events as an attendee or exhibitor
  • Proactively engage potential clients via comment, DM, call, email, and engage on different platforms with the goal of engaging with different brands, personas, and people, to identify problem statements and match them to our solutions
  • You will build your brand as an SME and will be a great citizen and contributor to our community/industry


WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED

Competencies:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Ability to navigate an organization
  • Must be fluent in English, ability to speak to and sell to American businesses
  • You will often have many initiatives and being able to prioritize and run things down is a required skill.
  • Desire to learn new tools and GenAI
  • Hungry, desire to learn, and humble
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, with a strategic mindset focused on long-term success.
  • Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and key decision-makers


Experiences

  • You’ve demonstrated success in relationship building, sales, recruiting, finance.
  • You’ve spent at least 5+ years in a business of at least 50 people
  • You love accountability, numbers, and reporting (not that you have to build the reporting)
  • Strong understanding of data annotation and digital operations services and the business areas they typically support (AI, ML, Trust & Safety and various Customer Experience Workflows etc).
  • You are an expert or an aspiring expert in Sheets/Excel, HubSpot/Salesforce, Slides/Powerpoint
  • You are comfortable with written, oral communication using multiple channels like Phone, LinkedIn, Email, HubSpot, Sales loft, Slack
  • Plus if you are familiar with BPO Industry



Travel:

  • You will work from home about 80% of the time with remaining 20% traveling for, events, and meeting people
  • Overall expected travel within the USA is 10%
