ABOUT KARPOWERSHIP

Karpowership, part of the Karadeniz Holding, is the owner, operator and builder of the only Powership™ (floating power plant) fleet in the world and plays an active role in medium to long-term investments; providing access to fast-track, affordable and reliable electricity. Powerships have a range of 30 MW to 470 MW and are delivered ready to operate in less than 60 days. Currently, Karpowership owns and operates 36 Powerships with an installed capacity exceeding 3,500 MW and another 5,000 MW are under construction or in the pipeline. In addition to a Powership fleet, Karpowership owns and operates its own LNG fleet. With expertise and experience in the field, Karpowership serves as a one-stop-shop for LNG to Power solutions, as a single provider delivering all parts of the value chain; including but not limited to LNG sourcing, transport, delivery, regasification, and electricity production; with the mission of powering life wherever needed. With more than 2,600 employees globally; Karpowership is operational in Mozambique, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Gambia, Senegal, Gabon, Sudan, Ivory Coast, New Caledonia, Guyana, Brazil, Dominican Republic and Cuba.


We are seeking an "Corporate Communications Specialist" to work primarily on our Ghana office. The ideal candidate should meet the following qualifications:


WHAT DO WE EXPECT?

Bachelor’s degree in Media and mass Communication/ Journalism,

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience,
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and disciplined work style,
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments,
  • Knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of communications strategies especially policy, corporate image building,
  • Proven knowledge in media research work such as with ability to respond to and develop news releases,
  • Strong in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications,
  • Advanced knowledge in Web Design.


WHAT AWAITS YOU?


Develop and execute proactive media relations and external communication strategies in Ghana for Karpowership to keep the public and stakeholders informed,

  • Develop and maintain relationships with news media in Ghana. Monitor developments in the news media as they relate to Karpowership, and recommend strategies to address media reports on KARPOWERSHIP and its activities,
  • Support in the fostering and maintenance of harmonious and mutually beneficial relationships between Karpowership and its agents, local communities, local authorities, and community-based organizations within Karpowership’s operations, and coordinate the implementation of public education programmes on Karpowership’s operations with these groups,
  • Act as a liaison between Karpowership approved CSR implementers and report to Management accordingly,
  • Coordinate Karpowership’s social support and donations activities and maintain records on souvenir distribution in Ghana,
  • Act as communication link between Karpowership Headquarters and the public and stakeholders in Ghana, and support Headquarters in the preparation of news releases, media response statements, and other external communication activities,
  • Support Headquarters in communication research and work with key contacts to develop key messages regarding the business as well as the development of communications tools such as newsletters & publications, printed content, speeches, videos, photographs, CDs/DVDs, etc,
  • Assist in coordinating proper response to all inquiries from external bodies in Ghana, including the media, and ensure communication of correct information to the various publics.
