Job Purpose
Responsible for leading the strategic and operational management of all site infrastructure and maintenance functions of the mine. This will include but not be limited to the Processing Plant, Power Generation Plant, Heavy Mining Equipment, Light vehicles and other infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement engineering strategies and initiatives that ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory engineering requirements, safety regulations, quality control processes and maintenance standards.
• Sign off for onboarding of business appropriate machinery and equipment for the operation.
• Collaborate with other business units such as processing and mining to meet production goals.
• Develop and maintain a plan regarding acquisition, maintenance, rundown of equipment or obsolete machinery/equipment, etc.
• Ensure that critical spares are available at all times. • Ensure a fit for purpose Engineering structure for optimal delivery.
• Review and approve engineering designs, technical documentation, and project plans.
• Manage resource allocation, including staffing, budgeting, and equipment procurement.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the engineering team
• Any other tasks that may be assigned by senior leadership.
Required Qualification & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. A master’s degree would be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years senior engineering or maintenance management experience in mining.
• Must possess Engineering Manager’s Certificate of Competency from Minerals Commission of Ghana.
• Strong knowledge of plant and equipment maintenance.
