Role Summary:
Engineers are the backbone of Pakistan Railways, responsible for the design, construction, maintenance, and modernization of railway infrastructure, including track networks, bridges, locomotives, and signaling systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Civil Engineers: Oversee track geometry, bridge inspection, station building construction, and track-laying projects. Ensure structural integrity and safety.
- Electrical Engineers: Manage overhead traction systems (OHE), power supply, substations, and electrical wiring for stations and rolling stock.
- Mechanical Engineers: Supervise the maintenance, overhaul, and manufacturing of locomotives, coaches, and wagons in railway workshops.
- Signal & Telecom Engineers: Design, install, and maintain train signaling systems, interlocking plants, and railway communication networks (fiber optics, radio).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- BE / BSc in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Telecom Engineering.
- Must be registered with PEC (Pakistan Engineering Council) (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills, AutoCAD proficiency (for civil/electrical), and knowledge of safety protocols.
