About the Role
VivaFemini is seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Engineering Team Lead to lead software
development and engineering delivery across our integrated digital healthcare ecosystem.
We are looking for an engineering leader with exceptional technical capabilities, strong software
architecture experience and a proven track record of building scalable, secure and reliable digital
products. The successful candidate must be capable of writing production-quality code, leading
multidisciplinary engineering teams and translating complex product requirements into effective
technical solutions.
You will work closely with the VP of Engineering, CTO, Product Management, Product Design
and Clinical teams to deliver our mobile applications, web platforms, healthcare professional
systems and supporting technology infrastructure.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position, not a purely administrative or project
management role.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Delivery
● Lead and supervise assigned frontend, backend and mobile engineers, ensuring high-
quality engineering delivery.
● Translate approved product requirements into technical specifications, development plans
and actionable engineering tasks.
● Lead sprint planning, technical discussions, code reviews and engineering delivery activities.
● Establish engineering standards covering code quality, documentation, testing,
maintainability and performance.
● Mentor engineers, conduct technical assessments and support their professional
development.
● Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks, delivery risks and engineering dependencies.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering,
Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable professional
experience.
● Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including
substantial hands-on development experience and previous responsibility for leading
engineers.
● Proven experience designing, developing, deploying and maintaining production-level
applications.
● Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering
complex software projects.
● Strong understanding of modern software architecture, system design, application
security and scalable infrastructure.
● Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating with Product
Management and Design teams.
Additional Advantages
● A postgraduate qualification or recognised professional certification in Software
Engineering, Computer Science, Cloud Computing or a related discipline.
● Previous experience in FemTech, HealthTech, digital healthcare, financial technology or
another regulated technology environment.
● Experience developing electronic health records, telehealth platforms, healthcare
marketplaces or complex digital ecosystems.
● Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7 and FHIR.
● Experience integrating AI services, large language models or machine learning
capabilities into production applications.
● Experience with Firebase, event-driven architectures, message queues and real-time
application development.
