Job Summary

The Group Loan Team Lead, leads and supports the Group Loans team to grow the business, maintain strong credit quality, and deliver excellent service to customers. The role ensures smooth field operations, high-performing group lending activities, and full compliance with Letshego’s credit policies and regulatory standards.


Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities                                                                                                                                                                                                            A. Supervision & Team Performance

  • Supervise and guide Loan Officers/Field Officers to meet weekly and monthly targets.
  • Track team performance in loan disbursements, collections, savings mobilisation, and customers service.
  • Provide coaching and support to help the team work better and deliver quality results.

B. Group Loan Operations

  • Ensure loans are disbursed on time and correctly to all groups.
  • Ensure loan repayments are received on time without any non performing Loan.
  • Monitor weekly group meetings, collections, savings contributions, and repayment behaviour.
  • Encourage responsible lending and make sure ccustomers use their loans properly.

C. Quality Checks

  • Conduct regular field visits with Loan Officers to check group meetings and verify customers records.
  • Review group registers, savings books, loan files, and repayment schedules for accuracy.
  • Quickly address any issues or errors to protect the branch’s loan portfolio.

D. Customer & Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with customer groups and community leaders.
  • Support staff to resolve customer concerns and repayment challenges professionally.
  • Promote good customer service and protect customer’ rights.

E. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare accurate daily and weekly reports on disbursements, collections, and portfolio performance.
  • Make sure all customer documents and system entries are updated and follow policy standards.
  • Support the Chief Commercial Officer review monthly performance and analyse trends.

F. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure the team follows Leshego Ghana credit policies, internal controls, and Bank of Ghana rules.
  • Identify high-risk or overdue cases early and escalate them for action.
  • Encourage good lending practices to reduce loan defaults and protect portfolio quality.

 

  • Key Performance Indicators

Portfolio Quality

Keep loan arrears low (within NPLS target).

Report all overdue loans within 24 hours.

Team Performance

Ensure Loan Officers meet weekly and monthly targets.

Do at least team meeting sessions with each officer every month.

Group Operations

Attend or verify all weekly group meetings.

Make sure all loan documents are correct before disbursement.

Reporting

Submit daily and weekly reports on time.

Ensure customer files and records are always up to date.

Customer Service

Resolve all customer issues within 48 hours.

Maintain good relationships with customer groups and communities.

Compliance

Follow Letshego Ghana lending rules and procedures at all times.

Report and fix any compliance issues within immediately.


Requirements

3.1 Education Minimum of HND
3.2 Experience At least 3 years’ experience in sales, business development, and customer relationship management
