Job Overview:

Manage the stores to optimize spare parts and related items availability, while reducing warehouse inventory and working capital in line with the Group Spare Parts Program. Ensure compliance with company procedures and maintain close, seamless coordination between Purchasing and end users, with a strong focus on effective stock management techniques to reduce overall stock valuation while maintaining maximum availability and reliability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of all store functions and supervision of all warehouse personnel.
  • Generate and administer the daily MRP function by liaising with Managers, Engineers, and Planners to ensure effective spare parts inventory management.
  • Ensure requisitions are processed and orders are placed in a timely and efficient manner to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Ensure that master data records accurately reflect the agreed stock control levels established with Plant Management.
  • Assist with daily, weekly, and shutdown maintenance planning of spares, including preparation and issuance of spares for plant operations.
  • Liaise with Accounts during physical stocktaking in accordance with the schedule communicated by the Chief Accountant.
  • Develop and implement a spare parts strategy aimed at reducing overall stock holding on site, aligned with group strategies for spare parts management, including common stockkeeping.
  • Provide all monthly group KPI’s to management as per the group spare parts guidelines.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on stock movements, pending requisitions, purchase orders, and lists of critical spares.
  • Ensure spares are clearly labelled with identification stickers, bin cards are updated, and storage shelves are properly labelled to enhance traceability and accuracy of supply to end users.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices and proper storage of spares in the stores.
  • Ensure compliance with group spare parts guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by superiors (Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager).
  • Ensure that environmental, health, safety, and quality procedures within the department are followed in accordance with Heidelberg Materials’ Safety Policies and Guidelines and actively participate in all related Health & Safety activities, programmes, and trainings.
  • Be familiar with and comply with established disciplinary measures for Health & Safety violations, as adherence is critical to maintaining a safe and secure working environment.


Education / Qualification

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, Purchasing and Supply, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ working experience in engineering or inventory management.

Other Attributes

  • Must be organized and punctual.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Sharepoint) applications
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
