Works under general supervision and follows standard procedures and instructions to complete moderately complex tasks and work orders such as:
Inspecting buildings and equipment for problems and performing preventative maintenance and repair
Assisting in moving, installing, repairing, and maintaining standard and/or systems furniture (Steelcase).
Replacing light bulbs and florescent tubes
Material handling/warehousing duties involving receiving, storing, inventorying, shipping, and disbursing materials
Inspecting and cleaning roof systems, gutters and drains
Testing and inspecting eye wash stations and water softeners
Inspecting and changing HVAC filters
Cleaning and organizing storage and shop areas
Assists technical trade or journeyman level trade workers in maintaining equipment and buildings.
Responsible for communicating clearly and professionally with customers, team members, etc.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required:
2 years building maintenance or related experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Must pass all required safety and equipment certifications and trainings
Must be able to work in a professional manner with others as well as alone without constant supervision
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, push, and pull for extended periods of time
Must be able to safely work from ladders, scaffolds and mechanical lifts and other high locations for extended periods of time
Must be able to independently lift objects weighing as much as 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to team lift and position objects weighing as much as 100 pounds on an occasional basis
Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Must have a valid driver's license
Must have proficient computer skills
May be required to complete forklift certification
