 Overview:

A Provincial Accountant  manages financial operations at the provincial or regional level, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, donor requirements, and internal controls. This role is vital for maintaining transparency and accountability in public or nonprofit financial systems.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and monthly reports
  • Monitor provincial budgets and expenditures to ensure alignment with approved plans
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions, payroll, and petty cash
  • Ensure compliance with national accounting standards and donor requirements
  • Coordinate with central finance teams and external auditors
  • Support procurement processes and verify supporting documentation
  • Train and supervise district-level finance staff

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
  • Master’s Degree is an advantage
  • 5 ‘O’ Levels including English Language, Mathematics, and Accounts
  • Minimum three (3) years relevant experience
