Job summary:

Dominion University College is seeking qualified and dedicated Senior Lecturers and Lecturers in the field of Communication and Public Affairs. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching, conducting research, mentoring students, and contributing to the overall academic excellence of the university.
 
 
 Job Description:
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Communication and Public Affairs.
• Develop and review academic curricula in line with current trends in the discipline.
• Engage in scholarly research and publish in reputable academic journals.
• Supervise student projects, dissertations, and theses.
• Participate in departmental meetings, seminars, and workshops.
• Contribute to community service and university outreach programs.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or University .
• Proven teaching and research experience at the tertiary level is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and innovation.



Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning
 Deliver lectures and tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Communication and Public Affairs.

Prepare course outlines, lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools.

Evaluate student performance through assignments, tests, and examinations.


Curriculum Development:

Design, review, and update curricula to reflect emerging trends in Communication and Public Affairs.

Incorporate innovative teaching methodologies and technologies to enhance learning outcomes.


Research & Publication:
Conduct independent and collaborative research in relevant areas of the discipline.

Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.

Seek research grants and engage in scholarly collaborations.


Student Supervision & Mentorship:

Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations, theses, and projects.

Provide academic and career guidance to students.

Departmental & Institutional Engagement 

Participate in departmental, faculty, and university meetings and committees.

Contribute to seminars, workshops, and conferences organized by the university.


Community Engagement & Service:
Support community outreach and extension programs that align with the university’s mission.Build partnerships with industry and professional bodies to enhance academic and practical exposure for students.


Administrative & Other Duties:
Assist the Head of Department with administrative responsibilities.

Perform any other tasks assigned in support of departmental and institutional goals.
