 Job Overview:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue through new business initiatives. This role combines market research, relationship-building, and strategic planning to expand the organization’s footprint and achieve commercial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Growth
    • Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company objectives
    • Identify new markets, customer segments, and partnership opportunities
    • Lead the development of proposals, pitches, and presentations
  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
    • Negotiate contracts and close deals that support long-term growth
    • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention
  • Market Intelligence
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis
    • Monitor industry trends and emerging opportunities
    • Provide insights to inform product development and marketing strategies
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to align efforts
    • Support the development of promotional campaigns and go-to-market plans
    • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums
  • Reporting & Performance Tracking
    • Set KPIs and track performance against targets
    • Prepare regular reports for senior management
    • Recommend improvements based on data and feedback

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and closing deals
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Ghanaian business landscape and regulatory environment

 Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in sectors like FMCG, tech, finance, or logistics
  • MBA or professional certification in business development or sales
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • Strong network within local and regional business communities
