Job purpose
- The Credit Analyst is responsible for appraising credit requests, supporting documentation from customers and making recommendations to management/approving authorities as well as assist the Department operate an Efficient Credit Delivery Syste
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage client engagements involving credit requests, ensuring seamless communication between clients, business teams, and internal departments.
- Appraise and process credit applications, offering expert recommendations and submitting for consideration and approval.
- Conduct risk assessments of prospective and existing borrowers by gathering legal, financial, operational, and market intelligence.
- Model risk-adjusted cash flows, particularly for debt amortization, and inspect collaterals to ensure adequate security.
- Maintain accurate credit files and documentation, provide timely feedback to SBUs, and prepare reports for Credit Supervisors and the Management Credit Committee.
- Monitor trends that may impact credit policy, recommending updates to the Credit Policy and Credit Procedure Manual as needed.
Qualifications (Key technical skills/knowledge required for position)
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance or any related field.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) as an added advantage.
- A minimum of three years in a credit working environment
- Excellent communication skills- Strong oral and written English Computer Literate. (Microsoft word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Good leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Working knowledge of accounting and finance.
- Working knowledge of the financial system and its regulatory framework.
- Working knowledge of current economic issues.
- Appreciable knowledgeable of current risk management.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
