JOB SUMMARY
Perform financial functions related to the collection, accuracy, recording, analysis and presentation of the group’s financial operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring that appropriate procedures and processes for setting, monitoring and reviewing the financial arrangements are followed
- Preparation of financial analyses, statements and reports
- Responsible for Budget preparation, execution and supervision
- Ensures that all bank and cash balances are regularly updated and reconciled
- Respond to and resolve all payment related queries
- Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
- Secure financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential
- Supporting the development, maintenance and review of budget monitoring, control, reconciliation and reporting in conjunction with operations and to contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental systems in line with financial best practice.
- Effective liaison with external and internal audit, including the efficient filing and retention of documentation, maintaining appropriate audit trails for subsequent retrieval as and when required.
- Effective liaison with other teams and to promote joint working arrangements and the sharing of information.
- Issuing of Purchase Orders for order confirmation
- Analysing monthly petty cash for month accounts for Lagos and other branches
- Issuing of cheques and following up on transfer instructions.
- Responsible for preparation of Quotations and Invoices
- Responsible for payroll preparation and management.
- Handle preparation, liaising and payment of all tax payments (VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- HND/BSc. in Accountancy or any other related field
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar role in a multi-site, structured environmentpreferably a logistics company.
- Must be versatile in the use of at least one accounting package / ERP
- Relevant professional affiliations/certifications
- Must be highly organized, detailed and focused.
- Outstanding coordinating and planning skills
- Good knowledge of all branches of accounting
- Excellent grasp of tax accounting.
- Good knowledge of corporate finance
- An understanding and experience of a fast-moving workplace environment
