FINANCE MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE
To oversee the organization’s financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management and statutory compliance while providing valuable guidance to support effective decision making and ensure efficient use of resources.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role generally involves mgt of financial management, member services, and regulatory reporting.
- Financial Record Keeping Maintaining accurate ledgers, managing accounts payable/receivable, and ensuring all transactions align with the institute budget.
- Member Dues Management Overseeing the collection of annual membership fees, application fees, Fellows, Associates, and Students, issuing relevant receipts.
- Financial Reporting Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the Executive Council and the Finance & Audit Committee.
- Audit & Compliance Liaising with external auditors, Insurance Commission (NIC) directives and Ghana’s tax laws (VAT, WHT and Corporate Tax).
- Royal Administration Managing staff salaries, SDF contributions and PAYE tax filings.
- Budgetary Control Assisting in the preparation of the annual budget and monitoring variances to ensure the Institute remains self-sustaining.



Education & Professional Standing
- Primary Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or a closely related Business field from a recognized institution.
- Professional Qualification: Minimum successful completion of Level 2 of the ICAG or ACCA professional examinations.
- Fully Qualified Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA Ghana) and membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.
- Insurance Knowledge A fundamental understanding of the insurance industry. Being a CII student membership or Diploma is a significant advantage.



Professional Experience
Years of Service minimum of 3 to 5 years post qualification experience in a corporate or non-profit environment.
- Sector Exposure Previous experience working within the financial services sector or for a professional membership body.
- Regulatory Experience Proven track record of handling GRA (Ghana Revenue Authority) filings and SSNT.



Technical & Soft Skills
- Software & IT Proficiency Expertise in QuickBooks, Tally, or Sage.
- Advanced command of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, and Financial Modeling).
- Communication Skills Ability to manage audit & statutory books and communicate effectively with external auditors and written communication skills.
