Job Description:
Reports To: Country Manager (with functional reporting to Group HR)
Department: Human Resources & Administration
Role Purpose:
The HR & Admin Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive human resources and administrative support to the Ghana operations. This role will ensure compliance with local labour laws, drive employee engagement, support recruitment and retention, and oversee office administration to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance & Labour Law:
● Ensure company practices and policies are in line with Ghanaian labour laws and regulations.
● Oversee statutory remittances (e.g., social security, pensions, tax) to avoid penalties.
● Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and HR documentation.
2. Employee Relations & Support:
● Provide on-ground HR support to employees, addressing queries and concerns in a timely manner.
● Manage onboarding, orientation, leave administration, welfare, and performance documentation.
● Promote a positive work environment and resolve employee relations issues in line with company policies.
3. Operational Efficiency (Administration):
● Manage day-to-day office administration including facilities, supplies, logistics, and vendor management.
● Maintain proper filing systems and ensure smooth flow of administrative processes.
● Provide support to the Country Manager and functional teams to ensure focus on core deliverables.
4. Talent Acquisition & Retention:
● Partner with hiring managers to understand manpower needs and source suitable local talent.
● Manage recruitment activities including job postings, interviews, reference checks, and offers.
● Support seamless onboarding and induction processes to improve retention.
5. Strategic Alignment:
● Ensure consistent implementation of company policies, culture, and values within the Ghana office.
● Act as the liaison between local staff and the Group HR team.
● Provide HR insights and reports to management to support decision-making.
Qualifications & Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR Professional Certification is an advantage).
● Minimum of 4 years’ experience in HR & Administration.
● Strong knowledge of Ghanaian labour laws, statutory remittances, and compliance requirements.
● Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and HR operations.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
● Proficiency in MS Office and HR systems.
● Ability to work independently while aligning with Group HR strategy.
