JOB OBJECTIVE
The Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance Manager will ensure full compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements while minimizing compliance risks and supporting sustainable business growth through accurate financial reporting and regulatory engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance
• Manage compliance for all tax obligations including CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, Pension, and statutory deductions.
• Prepare, review, and file all tax and payroll related statutory returns accurately and on time.
• Maintain tax schedules, supporting documentation, and statutory records.
• Prepare tax computations for monthly and annual management accounts.
• Support tax audits and respond promptly to tax queries.
2. Regulatory & Telecom Compliance
• Prepare and submit regulatory filings and levy payments.
• Track license renewals, permits, and compliance obligations.
• Maintain records of approvals, licenses, and regulatory correspondence.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory inspections and audits.
3. Risk Management & Internal Controls
• Identify compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
• Maintain audit trails for all tax and compliance submissions.
• Support internal and external audits.
4. Treasury & Financial Planning Support
• Approve expenses within delegated authority limits.
• Sign off bank letters and official correspondences.
• Serve as first-level approver for online payments.
• Analyze tax implications of projects and policy changes.
5. Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
• Coordinate preparation of monthly management reports and financial statements.
• Provide compliance updates for board meetings and investor reporting packs.
• Liaise with tax authorities, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
• Strong financial reporting and tax compliance expertise
• Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory filing requirements
• Understanding of telecom regulatory requirements
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
• Ability to interpret regulatory guidelines
• Knowledge of ERP systems and reporting tools
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field.
2. Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, ACTI (CITN), or related qualifications are an added advantage.
3. Minimum of 7–12 years’ experience in financial reporting, tax, and regulatory compliance.
4. Experience within the telecoms industry or a related sector is highly preferred.
