About Integrate Health

Integrate Health makes government health systems work for patients, closing the implementation gap between communities and ministries across Francophone West Africa. Founded over two decades ago, the organisation partners with governments to integrate professional, salaried Community Health Workers into strengthened public health systems. It operates today in the US, Togo, and Guinea, with Senegal next on the horizon, and is proudly locally rooted: roughly 95% of staff identify as African, and around 70% of the leadership team is African and based in Africa.

Integrate Health is women-led from the Community Health Worker cadre through to a predominantly female executive team and a woman board chair, and is backed by leading global health funders including Gavi, the Global Fund, and the Mulago and UBS Optimus Foundations.

The Opportunity

Integrate Health is seeking a Senior Director of Human Resources to join its Executive Team and ensure its people strategy evolves alongside the organisation's growth. This role extends well beyond traditional human resources leadership. During the first six months, the Senior Director will assess the eight-person HR team supporting Togo and Guinea, alongside the Global Support Team, while determining the people structure and capabilities needed to support Integrate Health’s expansion into Senegal. The Senior Director will make the decisions required to align the function with the organisation’s evolving strategy and serve as the Executive Team’s principal thought partner on all people-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Talent Attraction: Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, and onboarding across all geographies, including Integrate Health's expansion into Senegal.
  • Development & Performance: Strengthen performance management, professional development, leadership capability, and succession planning across the organisation.
  • Staff Engagement: Establish HR as an accessible, responsive, and trusted resource for staff across the Global Support Team, country offices, and the frontline workforce.
  • Total Compensation & Compliance: Ensure contracts, compensation, benefits, promotions, and employment practices are equitable, transparent, and compliant across all countries.
  • Culture & Change Leadership: Steward organisational culture and lead change management for major transitions, including a new systems implementation (NetSuite/NuSmart) and the Senegal expansion.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Functional Expertise: A seasoned HR leader with experience in complex, multi-country, or mission-driven organisations, ideally within international development, global health, or the nonprofit sector, and a proven ability to design fit-for-purpose processes and build effective people systems from the ground up.
  • Multi-Country Experience & Language: Demonstrated experience leading HR across multiple geographies, ideally including West Africa, and supporting diverse office-based, remote, and frontline workforces. Fluency in both French and English is essential.
  • Leadership & People Judgement: High emotional intelligence and sound judgement, with credibility at the executive level and the experience to navigate restructuring and difficult people decisions with fairness and care.
  • Change Leadership: Proven experience guiding organisations through significant transitions, supported by clear and sustained communication.
