Job Summary
Jumia is seeking an experienced and results-driven 3PL Manager to oversee and improve operations across its Third-Party Logistics (3PL) network.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics partners, improving operational efficiency, monitoring service performance, controlling operational costs and ensuring compliance with company standards. The role requires strong leadership, vendor management and supply chain expertise to support Jumia’s growing e-commerce operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations and Partner Management
* Oversee daily operations across the company’s third-party logistics network.
* Manage relationships with logistics partners and ensure accountability.
2. Performance and KPI Management
* Monitor and improve key operational performance indicators.
* Track on-time order fulfilment and inventory accuracy.
3. Financial and Budget Management
* Manage annual operational budgets.
* Review and audit third-party logistics invoices to ensure accuracy.
4. Process Improvement and Operational Excellence
* Identify operational challenges and recommend effective solutions.
* Implement lean management practices to improve workflow efficiency.
5. Cross-Functional and Vendor Management
* Collaborate with supply chain, transportation and commercial teams.
* Evaluate the performance of third-party logistics partners.
6. Compliance and Business Continuity
* Ensure logistics facilities comply with regulatory requirements and company safety policies.
* Support the implementation of business continuity plans.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree or advanced qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management or a related field.
* Relevant practical experience in logistics or supply chain operations may also be considered.
* Proven experience in logistics, warehousing or distribution operations.
* Knowledge of distribution centre operations, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inbound freight, inventory management and supply chain analytics.
* Experience managing cross-functional projects.
* Understanding of productivity management frameworks, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
* Strong vendor and partner management experience.
* Ability to lead, coach and influence external operational teams.
