Job Purpose:

To manage day-to-day finances of the regional office and support partners in establishing effective financial management systems, enhancing accountability and transparency.




Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with an NGO.
  • Membership of a professional accounting body (ACCA, CIMA, ICA, CPA) is an advantage.
  • Experience in the development sector preferred.




Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & Reporting


  • Review payment requests and supporting documents for approval.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and ensure data accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Review cost classifications in the accounting system (SUN 6.4).



2. Banking and Treasury Functions


  • Manage banking relations and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare daily cash forecasts and transfer requests.
  • Manage petty cash and maintain cheque registers.



3. Budgets and Budgetary Control


  • Support resource allocation and provide budgeting guidelines.
  • Consolidate regional programme budgets and prepare cash flows.
  • Assist Programme Manager in reviewing and revising budgets.



4. Project Management


  • Cost project proposals and convert them to donor formats.
  • Create project codes and budget reports for donors.
  • Facilitate project audits and conduct site visits for construction projects.



5. Partnerships


  • Support partners with annual plans and budgets.
  • Review and reconcile partner reports with transferred funds.
  • Conduct Expenditure Verification and address audit recommendations.



6. Other Responsibilities


  • Support capacity building for non-finance staff.
  • Perform stock counts and fixed asset verification.
  • Maintain contract register and process transactions in SUN 6.4.



7. Safeguarding Responsibilities


  • Abide by child protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Educate stakeholders and report any emerging issues.



Technical Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • HRBA programming, financial and management accounting, budgetary control.
  • Treasury, cash management, procurement, and contract management.
  • Advanced knowledge of SUN 6.4 and Info Q&A 11.
  • Audit, internal control, payroll, and NGO tax regulations in Ghana.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, and presentation skills.
