As we scale our operations and deepen our impact across Ghana and West Africa, we're seeking a results-oriented Business Development Manager to drive operational excellence, marketing strategy, team performance, and sustainable growth.
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth. This role combines market research, relationship-building, and sales strategy to expand the company’s reach and impact.
You will oversee marketing, production, logistics, HR, procurement, and administration, ensuring operational alignment with strategic objectives and the timely delivery of growth and impact targets.
Core Purpose: Strengthen and scale the operational and marketing systems that power our mission of empowering women and promoting sustainable hygiene solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership & Efficiency:
Lead and oversee daily operations across marketing, production, procurement, logistics, and administration.
Translate strategic goals into actionable, measurable work plans.
Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks to enhance workflows, efficiency, and team performance.
Marketing & Sales:
Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies to increase brand visibility and market share.
Oversee campaigns, content creation, and social media aligned with impact goals.
Lead sales planning, corporate partnerships, and customer engagement initiatives.
Coordinate with the Strategic Partnerships team to support B2B and CSR partnerships.
Financial & Resource Management:
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation with the finance team.
Implement cost-effective procurement and production systems.
Ensure accurate financial and operational reporting for partners and donors. People & Performance Management
Supervise and mentor team members across departments.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
Foster a high-performance, mission-driven workplace culture.
Production & Supply Chain Oversight:
Develop and manage production schedules to meet sales and CSR targets.
Ensure compliance with Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) and FDA quality requirements.
Strengthen supplier and distribution networks to ensure consistent availability of products.
Monitoring, Reporting & Innovation:
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic decision-making.
Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for the CEO.
Support new product rollouts (e.g., reusable diapers, period panties).
Lead innovation and digitization initiatives to improve efficiency and marketing analytics.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs):
Operational Efficiency Ratio (OER): ≥ 85% efficiency quarterly
Production Output: 30,000+ reusable pads per month by Q3 2026
Marketing Reach: 25% increase in brand visibility and engagement quarterly
Workflow Optimization: Minimum two system/process improvements per quarter
Revenue Growth: 15% quarterly increase through new sales and partnerships
Employee Satisfaction Index: ≥ 90% satisfaction
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in Operations, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum 5 years' proven experience in operations, marketing, or organizational leadership (preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or social enterprise).
Strong marketing and communication strategy background.
Proven ability to lead teams, streamline systems, and achieve measurable growth.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Google Workspace, Asana, Canva, and CRM tools.
Passion for sustainability, women's empowerment, and social impact.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
* Base Salary: GHS 4,500 – GHS 6,000 (commensurate with experience)
* Performance Bonus: Up to GHS 1,500 monthly based on KPI achievements.
* Milestone Bonus: Up to GHS 1,000 quarterly for major operational or marketing milestones.
* Retention Bonus: GHS 1,000 annually for sustained leadership and performance.
* Total potential earnings: up to GHS 7,000 monthly (base + performance + milestone bonuses)
