Position Summary
The successful candidate will drive revenue growth, oversee operational performance, and provide strategic leadership across the organization. The role requires deep expertise in the marketing and distribution of petroleum products including:
Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)
Automotive Gas Oil (AGO)
Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK)
The ideal candidate must have held a senior leadership position in a recognized oil and gas company in Nigeria and demonstrate proven success in downstream petroleum trading and operations management.
Key Responsibilities
· Business Development & Commercial Strategy
· Develop and execute aggressive sales and market expansion strategies for PMS, AGO, ATK, and related products.
· Identify and secure bulk off-take agreements with corporate clients, government institutions, and industrial users.
· Build strategic partnerships with depot owners, logistics operators, and key stakeholders.
· Lead high-level negotiations and contract management.
· Monitor industry trends, pricing structures, and regulatory developments.
· Operational (COO) Responsibilities
· Oversee end-to-end downstream operations including sourcing, logistics, storage, and distribution.
· Ensure operational efficiency, cost optimization, and profitability.
· Implement performance management systems and KPIs across departments.
· Strengthen internal controls, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
· Coordinate finance, operations, logistics, and marketing units to achieve corporate targets.
· Drive process improvement and corporate governance standards.
Candidate Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline (MBA is an added advantage).
· Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Nigerian oil & gas downstream sector.
· Must have held a senior management position in a reputable oil and gas company in Nigeria.
· Strong background in petroleum product marketing (PMS, AGO, ATK).
· Demonstrated success in large-volume trading and revenue generation.
· Strong understanding of depot operations, bridging, marine logistics, and regulatory compliance.
· Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
