Designation Level: Sectional Head

OBJECTIVE: The Inventory Management Associate will be responsible for efficiently managing the receipt, storage, and issuance of supplies and equipment, maintaining accurate inventory levels, compiling and verifying records of supply transactions, ensuring proper stock movement and preventing stock-outs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Facilitate the unloading and receipt of goods and equipment delivered by suppliers.
  • Monitor and record inventory transactions in the inventory management system (e.g., receiving, stocking, transfers, returns).
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and support full inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and report variances to the Inventory Superintendent.
  • Coordinate with the various operational teams and the purchasing department to forecast inventory demands and ensure stock availability.
  • Assist in organizing the storage areas, stores and warehouses for efficient and safe material handling and space utilization.
  • Label and tag inventory items & Equipment where necessary.
  • Generate periodic inventory reports for management and assist with the analysis of these reports.
  • Collaborate with the HS department to ensure total compliance with Genser’s safety policies and procedures related to inventory handling and management and handling.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to inventory tracking processes.

BUDGETING

  • Support with the preparation of the monthly budget.
  • Contribute to the management of all budget items, including cost control and expenditure forecasting.
  • Contribute to ensuring that the budget is in line with the department’s scheduled activities.

ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Supervise the team to execute assigned projects within deadlines and budget. 
  • Carry out performance appraisals and development plans with subordinate staff. 
  • Coordinate the leave schedule of subordinate staff. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials Management, Engineering or related field is mandatory.
  • Multicultural experience is a plus.
  • Fluency in both English and French is mandatory, Chinese is a plus

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience in a similar role (inventory management), preferably at a heavy engineering company in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Proficiency with industry-specific software like Sage, SAP, QuickBooks.
