SENIOR SUPPLY CHAIN ASSOCIATE

Reports Directly to: Supply Chain Manager

 

OBJECTIVE: The Senior Supply Chain Associate will be responsible for overseeing our end-to-end supply chain operations, covering Inventory Management, Logistics, Procurement, and Contracts Management. This role requires strong cross-collaboration skills, a deep understanding of the engineering and operational complexities within the oil and gas industry, and strong negotiation skills to manage relationships with global suppliers and service providers. The ideal candidate must also be technologically savvy, with the ability to propose automation and process improvement initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


SUPPLY CHAIN

  • Strategic Supply Chain Management
    • Develop and oversee the implementation of supply chain strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.
    • Propose initiatives to optimize supply chain performance in terms of cost, efficiency, lead times, and reliability.
    • Evaluate and mitigate supply chain risks and disruptions, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Inventory Management
    • Oversee inventory planning, forecasting, optimization, and control across multiple sites and storage facilities.
    • Ensure critical spares and consumables are available to support uninterrupted operations.
    • Implement and manage inventory tracking systems (ERP/SCM platforms), minimize stockouts and excess stock.
  • Logistics & Distribution
    • Oversee international and domestic logistics including freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, and transport.
    • Ensure compliance with all import/export laws and regulations.
    • Negotiate contracts and service levels with logistics providers and monitor performance KPIs.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management
    • Lead procurement strategy development for equipment, materials, and services, ensuring best value and compliance with technical specifications.
    • Identify, evaluate, and qualify domestic and international suppliers.
    • Drive cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and secure long-term supply agreements.
  • Contracts Management
    • Draft, review, and contribute to the negotiation of complex commercial contracts, including long-term supply agreements, service contracts, and EPC contracts.
    • Coordinate with legal, engineering, and project teams to ensure contract terms meet operational and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor contract execution, ensure compliance, and manage claims and disputes.
  • Technology & ERP Management
    • Participate in supply chain process automation and digital transformation initiatives.
    • Utilize Sage X3 ERP for all supply chain operations including procurement, inventory, logistics, and reporting.
    • Ensure accurate system configuration, data integrity, and real-time visibility across supply chain functions.
    • Champion the adoption of supply chain technologies (e.g., e-sourcing platforms, supplier portals, logistics tracking tools) to enhance efficiency and transparency.
    • Collaborate with IT and Finance teams to support system upgrades, integrations, and user training related to Sage X3 and associated platforms.

 

BUDGETING 

  • Actively assist the Department Head with the preparation of the monthly budget.  
  • Develop and manage all budget items, including cost control and expenditure forecasting. 
  • Ensure the budget is in line with the department’s scheduled activities. 

 

ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT 

  • Supervise the team to execute assigned projects within deadlines and budget.  
  • Carry out performance appraisals and development plans with subordinate staff.  
  • Coordinate the leave schedule of subordinate staff.  


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field is mandatory.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Multicultural experience is mandatory.
  • Fluency in both English and French is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
  • APICS (CPIM/CSCP), CIPS, PMP, or relevant ERP certifications are a plus.

 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role in the Oil & Gas industry or heavy engineering environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Proven track record in using ERP to manage supply chain operations.
  • Strategic thinker with commercial, analytical, and negotiation capabilities.
  • Understanding of engineering-based supply chain requirements and technical procurement.
  • Experience in contract drafting and vendor management, with international sourcing experience.
