Job Summary:
The Inventory Merchandiser ensures optimal product availability, timely movement of stock, and effective management of expiry-sensitive items across all retail outlets. The role supports sales, reduces wastage, and maintains strong coordination between shops, suppliers, and the merchandising team.



Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor product expiry dates across all outlets and ensure timely reporting.
- Coordinate with shops to collate data on products with three months or fewer to expiry.
- Work with store teams and pricing units to implement price reductions for near-expiry items.
- Send routine notifications to shops regarding close-to-expiry and expired products, ensuring compliance with withdrawal procedures.
- Coordinate collection and return of expired or damaged goods to suppliers.
- Conduct monthly supermarket price benchmarking and share insights for pricing decisions.
- Issue gondola floor displays, product information (PI), and follow up to ensure correct merchandising execution.
- Support stock rotation practices (FIFO) to reduce wastage.
- Assist in planning and executing in-store promotions for slow-moving or near-expiry items.
- Maintain accurate documentation and submit weekly or monthly reports on expiry trends, returns, and price benchmarking.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding product issues, returns, or merchandising requirements.



Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience in merchandising, inventory control, or FMCG retail is an advantage.
