Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Team Management:
Nigerian business directory Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team of civil engineers, quantity surveyors and cost analysts.
Civil Engineering Review & Certification:
Review civil / structural drawings, specifications and calculations for compliance with applicable codes (e.g., Eurocodes, ACI, AASHTO, local regulations).
Conduct site visits and inspections (earthworks, foundations, drainage, pavements, retaining structures).
Cost Estimating & Valuation:
Perform market-aligned valuations using recognised standards (IVS, EVS, RICS Red Book).
Advise on budget programming, risk allowances and cost-optimisation strategies.
Support due-diligence assignments for financing, M&A, refinancing and insurance renewals.
Project & Quality Management:
Define scopes of work, resource plans and project schedules for civil and costing assignments.
Uphold quality management standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and internal audit processes.
Required Qualifications
Education & Professional Status:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
Chartered / registered status (CEng, MRICS, CIOB or equivalent).
Experience:
10+ years in civil/structural engineering design, inspection or certification.
5+ years leading cost planning, quantity surveying or independent valuation teams.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of civil engineering codes, geotechnical principles and construction methods.
Proven expertise in cost-estimating software (e.g., CostX, BCIS, Timberline) and MS Office.
Familiarity with valuation methodologies under global standards (IVS 300 series, EVS).
Soft Skills:
Excellent report-writing and presentation abilities.
Strong leadership, client-relationship management and negotiation skills.
Desirable Attributes:
Familiarity with BIM/CAD tools (Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or quality systems (ISO 17020).
