About This Role

This role will be responsible to provide metallurgical services, materials testing and quality control for effective gold recovery, as well as to manage the accounting features of the gold processing plant, ensure industry compliance and raw materials for processing are accurate for safe sustainable operations at a minimum cost.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and manage metallurgical accounting systems, reconciliation procedures and coordinate gold room activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports covering production performance, gold recovery, operating costs, consumable usage and budget monitoring.
  • Design, initiate, execute and report on laboratory‑based and plant‑based metallurgical test work to improve plant performance and recovery efficiency.
  • Develop, review and implement safe operating procedures to ensure industry compliance, improve safety performance and maintain quality standards.
  • Actively contribute to plant decision‑making processes through the analysis, review, and monitoring of key process parameters.
  • Provide specialist metallurgical input into project evaluations, including capital expenditure proposals, plant upgrades and process modification initiatives.
  • Conduct investigations into ore treatment options for plant trials, including reagent testing, mill circuit surveys and optimization studies to support operational and budgeting decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop corrective and improvement action plans and ensure effective implementation to drive continuous performance improvement.
  • Ensure that management systems, operating control philosophies, policies, and procedures are consistently applied, and that resources are utilized efficiently to achieve production targets while maintaining strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
  • Perform other work‑related duties as assigned from time to time.


Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Higher National Diploma (Extraction Metallurgy), or an equivalent qualification.
  • Holder of a valid Minerals Commission Certificate of Competency (Process Superintendent Certificate of Competency).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant experience in metallurgical and mineral processing operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in flotation gold recovery processes.
  • Strong technical and analytical capability in metallurgical plant operations.
  • In‑depth understanding of process control philosophies and control systems.
  • Advanced problem‑solving skills applied to mineral processing operations.
  • Strong commitment to Occupational Health and Safety principles and compliance.
  • Extensive knowledge of mass balance techniques water balance modeling and mineral processing plant design principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with the ability to analyze data and produce clear, accurate, and timely operational reports for multiple reporting levels.
  • Knowledge of Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) management and mine‑wide water balance systems will be an added advantage.
