We are looking for an experienced Laboratories Manager to join our Assay Laboratory team, reporting to the General Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensuring that International Standards, Management Systems and SHEQ standards are adhered to.
- Developing, implementing and reviewing operational policies and procedures for the department.
- Ensuring optimum stock levels of chemicals and materials are in place and fully utilized.
- Statistically evaluating analytical data and recommending accordingly.
- Ensuring availability of optimal analytical instruments required.
- Conducting process research and development by reviewing existing methods of analysis & developing new methods where required.
- Trending and statistically analysing data for critical issues to meet developmental needs.
- Managing the performance of subordinates and promoting their development.
- Preparing, monitoring and controlling the department budget.
- Developing and implementing succession plans for the department.
- Managing staff motivation and recommending corrective action where necessary.
- Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
About You
- B.Sc. Honours Degree in Chemistry or equivalent qualification is required.
- Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent business-related qualification is an added advantage.
- Qualifications in Quality Management System (ISO 17025, 9001) and Internal Audit are an added advantage.
- Trained Lead Auditor ISO 9001 is a must.
- 5-year hands on experience preferably in a similar position.
