Job Summary
The Mobile Financial Services (MFS) Manager will be responsible for driving the growth, profitability, and operational excellence of the company's mobile money and digital financial services business. The role involves managing agent networks, increasing customer acquisition and transaction volumes, ensuring regulatory compliance, developing strategic partnerships, and leading initiatives that enhance customer experience and market penetration.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Growth

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow mobile money subscriptions, transaction volumes, and revenue.
  • Identify new market opportunities and partnerships to expand MFS offerings.
  • Drive customer acquisition, retention, and usage of mobile financial services.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform business decisions.

Agent Network Management

  • Recruit, onboard, and manage mobile money agents and merchants.
  • Ensure adequate agent coverage and liquidity across assigned territories.
  • Monitor agent performance and implement initiatives to improve productivity.
  • Conduct regular field visits to support and strengthen agent relationships.

Operations & Service Delivery

  • Oversee daily MFS operations to ensure efficiency and service reliability.
  • Resolve operational challenges affecting agents, merchants, and customers.
  • Collaborate with technical and support teams to address system and service issues.
  • Monitor service quality and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including Bank of Ghana regulations and AML/KYC policies.
  • Monitor and mitigate operational, fraud, and compliance risks.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of agent and merchant activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting standards.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage budgets for MFS operations and initiatives.
  • Monitor revenue, costs, and profitability of MFS products and services.
  • Analyze performance metrics and provide recommendations for business growth.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop MFS officers, supervisors, and field teams.
  • Set performance targets and monitor achievement.
  • Foster a high-performance and customer-focused culture.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Prepare periodic reports on business performance, agent productivity, customer growth, and revenue.
  • Analyze transaction trends and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Present performance updates to management.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Banking, Finance, Marketing, or Project Management is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Mobile Financial Services, FinTech, Banking, Telecommunications, or a related industry.
  • At least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of mobile money and digital financial services operations.
  • Understanding of Bank of Ghana regulations, AML, and KYC requirements.
  • Excellent business development and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial management abilities.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet business targets.
