Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent Safety Compliance Officer to ensure all road construction activities adhere to local and international safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. The successful candidate will monitor compliance, conduct audits, and promote a culture of safety across all project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Review and update safety procedures to align with current legislation and industry best practices.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all necessary permits and certifications are current.
- Provide safety training and induction programs for new employees and site visitors.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and prepare regular reports for management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a safety compliance role, preferably in road construction or civil engineering.
- Professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of Ghana's safety regulations and construction industry standards.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
