Job Purpose
The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing the full employee growth for both skilled and unskilled labor on‑site. This role ensures that the project is adequately staffed, labor relations are managed effectively to prevent work stoppages, and all site activities comply with the Ghana Labour Act (Act 651).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and resolve grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions on‑site.
- Coordinate the mobilization of workers based on project phases.
- Partner with the Safety (HSE) team to ensure all workers undergo mandatory safety inductions before entering the site.
- Manage recruitment, selection, onboarding of staff, and employee relations.
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
- Manage and oversee employee benefits programs, payroll, and performance management systems.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their staffing needs and tailored solutions.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, and disciplinary action.
- Oversee the maintenance of the candidate database and ensure data accuracy.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resource management.
- Professional Membership: IHRMP (Ghana) or equivalent professional certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years specifically in the Construction or Engineering sectors.
- Legal Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the Ghana Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651).
