To support the effective and efficient administration of the Commission’s licensing and authorization functions by coordinating the review and processing of licensing applications, maintaining accurate regulatory databases, preparing reports and responding to licensing‑related enquiries, while contributing to regulatory research, documentation, stakeholder engagement and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.
Major Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Support the review of licensing application documents and ensure completeness against approved checklists.
Assist in updating and maintaining the market register and the capital market operators’ database.
Compile and prepare review reports highlighting outstanding documentation and compliance gaps.
Contribute to the preparation of approval, rejection, and conditional approval letters for licensing applications.
Support the updating, standardisation, and maintenance of licence templates and related documentation.
Respond to routine enquiries on licensing requirements, procedures, and timelines in line with approved guidelines.
Assist in maintaining and updating status reports on initial licence applications and renewals.
Participate in the development, review, and updating of the licensing procedures manual.
Attend departmental meetings and provide support for stakeholder engagements and consultations.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, mid‑year, and annual licensing and activity reports.
Support the drafting and issuance of directives, circulars, and notices to market operators.
Assist with research on the regulation and licensing of emerging market activities and products.
Participate in onsite pre‑licensing facility inspections to assess the preparedness of initial licence applicants.
Assist in drafting penalty and enforcement letters for non‑compliant market operators, in accordance with regulatory procedures.
Perform any other duties consistent with the scope and objectives of the role as may be required from time to time.
Educational Qualification and Experience
A minimum of a First Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or relevant field from an accredited tertiary institution.
A Masters Degree and Professional Qualification related to the Securities Industry is highly desirable
A minimum of 6 years’ relevant working experience
