Job Summary:

An Electrical and Solar Engineer designs, develops, and maintains electrical systems with a focus on solar energy technologies. This role combines traditional electrical engineering expertise with renewable energy innovation, contributing to the transition toward sustainable power solutions. Engineers in this role work on residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar projects, ensuring systems are efficient, compliant, and cost-effective.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design: Design and engineer solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including electrical schematics, inverter configurations, and grid integration.
  • Site Assessment: Conduct technical site evaluations to determine solar potential, shading analysis, and system orientation.
  • Installation Oversight: Supervise installation and commissioning of solar systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze system performance data and implement improvements to maximize energy yield.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and installations comply with local and international electrical codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering reports, drawings, and specifications for clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Innovation & R&D: Stay updated on emerging solar technologies and contribute to product development and system innovation.

 Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field
  •  Strictly male aged 18 to 25 years Should stay in Gokwe or Mt Darwin
  • 3+ years of experience in solar PV design and electrical engineering
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope)
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, grid-tied systems, and energy storage
  • Familiarity with NEC, IEC, OSHA, and other relevant codes
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Certifications:

  • NABCEP PV Installation Professional
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • OSHA Safety Certification
  • Energy modelling or simulation credentials
