Position: Fuel Truck Operator:

We are seeking for an experienced Fuel Truck Operator to join our team in Mashonaland West (Zimbabwe).

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Operate fuel trucks safely and efficiently to refuel heavy mining equipment, light vehicles, and auxiliary equipment across active mining areas. 
  • Conduct daily pre-start inspections and promptly report any mechanical issues or defects. 
  • Follow fueling plans and dispatch instructions to ensure equipment is refueled on schedule to minimize downtime. 
  • Accurately record fuel usage, delivery times, and equipment serviced in logbooks or digital systems. 
  • Ensure fueling hoses, nozzles, and meters are maintained in good condition and operate correctly. 
  • Assist in refilling bulk fuel tanks when required, under the supervision of the fuel farm or maintenance team. 
  • Keep the equipment clean, organized, and in proper working condition through regular housekeeping, fueling, and basic maintenance checks. 

Safety Responsibilities: 

  • Attend daily pre-start meetings. 
  • Perform visual safety checks before operating machinery and promptly report defects or mechanical issues. 
  • Follow all site safety standards for handling fuel, including designated refueling zones, fire safety protocols, and spill prevention.
  • Operate the machine only within authorized areas and according to established safety zones. 
  • Comply with EPSA’s safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. 
  • Immediately report any unsafe conditions, near-miss incidents, or accidents to your supervisor. 

Environmental Responsibilities:

  • Comply with EPSA’s environmental policies and practices. 
  • Ensure operations are conducted with minimal environmental impact. 

Qualifications:

  • Secondary education certificate or equivalent. 
  • Valid heavy equipment operating license.
  • Driver Licence Class 2. 
  • Dangerous Goods / Hazardous Substances Training Certificate. 
  • Defensive driving certificate (DDC), TSCZ. 
  • Training in mine safety procedures. 
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in remote or international locations with similar equipment. 
  • Ability to read and interpret operational instructions.

  • Reference checks will be conducted. 
  • Alcohol and drug testing applies as per company policy. 
  • All applicants will be subject to an assessment test.
