Job Summary
A reputable manufacturing company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Officer to manage and optimize inventory processes across the business. This role is critical to ensuring stock accuracy, availability, and efficient inventory flow, directly impacting operational performance and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is a process-driven professional with strong analytical skills, capable of maintaining tight control over stock movements while proactively identifying discrepancies and improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels across all storage locations
- Monitor stock movements including receipts, transfers, and dispatches
- Ensure optimal stock levels to prevent stock-outs or overstocking
- Track fast-moving and slow-moving items and provide actionable insights
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and cycle counts
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventory
- Prepare and submit periodic inventory reports (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Maintain proper documentation of all inventory transactions
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of inventory
- Enforce inventory handling procedures and safety standards
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient stock flow
- Maintain and update inventory management systems
- Identify inefficiencies in inventory processes and recommend improvements
- Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain, Accounting or related field
- Minimum 2 years' inventory or stores experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good organizational skills
- Experience in manufacturing and ERP or inventory systems is an advantage.
