Position Summary:
CARE Zimbabwe is seeking a proactive People and Culture Officer to support the development and implementation of human resource strategies that align with our mission of empowering communities. This role is essential for fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring employee engagement, and enhancing organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to inclusive practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Human Resource Management
- Support recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, and interviewing.
- Support contracting process of new employees
- Assist in onboarding and orientation for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Employee Engagement and Development
- Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Coordinate training and professional development programs to support staff growth.
- Policy Implementation, Compensation and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and organizational policies, providing guidance to staff on HR matters.
- Process payroll ensuring all statutory requirements are addressed
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Organizational Culture:
- Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture by facilitating team-building activities and diversity initiatives.
- Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, fostering open communication.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or a related field; a professional HR certification is a plus.
- Experience: At least 2- 3 years of experience in human resources or organizational development, preferably in an international development context.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Belina and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong Administrative skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
