Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to support the financial operations of Taicorp and its subsidiaries. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting statutory compliance, and providing timely financial information to management to enable sound decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
* Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records, ledgers, and journals
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Support consolidation of accounts across subsidiaries
* Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and internal controls
* Prepare management accounts and financial reports for review
Accounts Management
* Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
* Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and on time
* Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
* Monitor cash flow and support treasury activities
Compliance & Audit
* Support statutory filings, tax computations, and regulatory compliance (FIRS, LIRS, PAYE, VAT, WHT)
* Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits
* Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for audit readiness
Budgeting & Controls
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
* Strengthen financial controls and recommend process improvements
Additional Responsibilities
* Support financial operations for projects, grants, and donor-funded activities where applicable
* Liaise with internal teams and external service providers (banks, auditors, tax consultants)
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
* 3 - 6+ years of relevant accounting experience
* Professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, or in progress) is an advantage
* Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
* High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
* Ability to work across multiple entities and deadlines
