About the role
The accounting assistant will support the finance department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions and assisting with accounting documentation.
The role is important in ensuring compliance with Ghana financial regulations and supporting efficient operations across sourcing & trading activities.
The position is based in Tamale, Ghana.
Responsibilities
1.Financial records & transactions:
-Assist with daily transactions processing including purchases and payments.
- Maintain timely and accurate ledgers, journals and accounting files
- Assist with bank reconciliations, cash book management, fixed assets management and balance sheet reconciliation in general
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
2. Reporting, Administration & Compliance:
-Ensuring compliance with internal and Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) requirements including tax filing.
-Assist with month-end closing activities and financial reports
-Assist in preparing the year end activities and filing the statutory financial statements
-Assist in optimizing and documenting accounting processes
-Support statutory and internal audit reviews
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the accounting department
3. Inventory support & billing:
– Assist in maintaining inventory records in coordination with logistics teams.
- Support valuation of inventory stock
Assist in preparing, reviewing and issuing customer invoices
Requirements:
. Qualification in a professional accounting program (ICAG, ACCA or equivalent) is an advantage.

1. Knowledge of and ability to employ internal controls and to enhance business strategies for the purpose of detecting, correcting and preventing fraudulent activities.
2. Knowledge of an organisation's billing requirements; the ability to utilise the proper tools and follow accounts receivable practices and procedures.
