Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and analyse product and process costs.
- Track WIP, finished goods, scrap, and wastage.
- Reconcile inventory records with physical stock counts.
- Monitor/track evacuation of finished goods from production to warehouse and ensure they are reported electronically on ERP
Financial Accounting & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate books of accounts for plant operations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual plant reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Support statutory and internal audits.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Prepare plant budgets and forecasts.
- Track actual vs budgeted costs and investigate variances.
- Support cost reduction and efficiency initiatives.
Plant Operations Support:
- Work closely with production, maintenance, and supply chain teams.
- Monitor inter-organizational transfer of stocks from one location to another
- Provide financial inputs for production planning and pricing.
- Support make-or-buy and process optimization decisions.
- Maintain internal controls and SOPs for plant accounting.
- Ensure timely closing of plant accounts.
- Conduct regular spot checks
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
- A professional qualification (ICAN or ACCA equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in plant or manufacturing accounting
Key Competencies:
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills.
