Job Summary:
A new division in an established company is seeking to employ full time on-site diesel mechanics.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintenance and repairs – routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs (MAN, SCANIA and DAF), including engines, transmissions (Auto, semi-auto and manual), brakes and basic electrical fittings.
* Timely diagnosis and troubleshooting vehicle issues and attending to breakdowns (within and outside Zimbabwe).
* Perform thorough pre-trip and post trip inspections of vehicles and trailers.
* Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including repairs and maintenance.
* Train and coach sub-ordinates and trainees in line with their training programme.
* Adhere to health and safety standards, regulations in all workshop and off-site operations.
* Prepare and submit periodical workshop operations reports to management.
Experience and Qualification Requirements:
* Class 1 diesel mechanic with at least 10years post qualification experience.
* Proven and traceable experience with MAN, SCANIA, DAF HGVs and trailer maintenance in a professional workshop and/or freight business.
* Valid class 2 driving licence and with more than 5 years driving experience (Class 2).
* Ability to plan jobs and work with minimum supervision, and to train/coach subordinates.
* At least 32years old and in possession of a valid passport.
