NATIONAL SERVICE -DISPATCH & OPERATIONS

Job Summary

SHAQ EXPRESS is seeking proactive and highly organized National Service Personnel to join the Dispatch & Operations Control Center. The successful candidate will support the daily coordination of delivery operations by verifying delivery requests, assigning riders and vehicles, monitoring live trips, resolving operational issues, and ensuring accurate dispatch records. This role offers practical experience in logistics, fleet coordination, and real-time operations management.

Key Responsibilities

* Verify delivery requests, recipient details, addresses, service type, payment, COD instructions, and parcel readiness before dispatch.
* Prioritize pickups and deliveries based on urgency, service commitments, location, available capacity, and operational requirements.
* Assign riders, drivers, and vehicles to delivery routes and prepare accurate dispatch manifests.
* Monitor active pickups and deliveries in real time, following up on delays and updating delivery statuses.
* Provide timely operational updates to the Customer Service team and other relevant departments.
* Coordinate and resolve delivery exceptions, including delays, failed deliveries, incorrect addresses, rider or recipient unavailability, vehicle breakdowns, and COD discrepancies.
* Confirm completed, rescheduled, failed, and returned deliveries with appropriate documentation and supporting evidence.
* Reconcile dispatch manifests, rider assignments, COD handovers, undelivered parcels, and returned items at the end of each shift.
* Prepare daily shift reports detailing completed deliveries, pending assignments, operational issues, and follow-up actions.
* Ensure compliance with company dispatch procedures, operational standards, and data confidentiality policies.

Requirements

* Eligible to undertake National Service in the 2026/2027 service year.
* Bachelor’s degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transport Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear instructions and maintain accurate operational records.
* Basic numerical skills for reconciling parcel counts, manifests, delivery times, and COD transactions.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, digital maps, and web or mobile applications.
* Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
* Willingness to work on-site and follow assigned shift schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

* Internship or practical experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, customer service, or operations.
* Experience coordinating riders, drivers, or field teams.
* Familiarity with GPS navigation, route planning, dispatch software, manifests, or COD reconciliation.
* Ability to communicate in a Ghanaian language commonly spoken within the assigned branch location.
