Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support the identification of new opportunities for projects related to Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund and other funding opportunities.

  • Support the collection of information and analysis on trends and opportunities related to the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund, and other funding opportunities.
  • Support the identification of new project opportunities in line with the priorities of IFRC and the priorities of Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund, and other funding opportunities.
  • Play an active role in summarizing the main results of the previous and current projects, including the development of good cases and other project materials.
  • Facilitate internal and external dialogues and other processes to formulate new projects, based on the identified opportunities. Support possible outreach to key partners and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the IFRC organizational knowledge sharing.

2. Coordinate proposal development related to Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund and other funding opportunities.

  • In line with the identified prioritized areas, closely coordinate with IFRC colleagues, Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies, and other partners, for the formulation of project proposals.
  • Closely coordinate with CIDCA and China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchange (CICETE) to seek their guidance and advice regarding proposal development.
  • Lead the revisions and updates of the proposals, based on the feedback and comments from CIDCA, CICETE and other relevant partners and stakeholders.

3. Support and coordinate agreement review and approval process related to Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund and other funding opportunities.

  • Act as the main focal point to coordinate the agreement review process. Coordinate with CIDCA, CICETE, other partners, and IFRC colleagues for the agreement review and revision.
  • Coordinate the agreement approval process, including supporting procedures in the online approval system.
  • Support with translation during the agreement review and approval process when needed.

4. Provide coordination support during the project implementation and reporting

  • During the implementation of the projects, support the coordination among donors, IFRC colleagues, National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and other partners.
  • Provide coordination support to the project reporting, including but not limited to quarterly updates, final narrative reports and financial reports.
  • Keep track of the main progress achieved and lessons learned during the implementation of the projects.
  • Provide support to the communications work of relevant projects.

5. Support other partnership and resource development activities

  • Contribute to identifying potential partnership and resource development opportunities, including supporting key stakeholder mapping, outreach meetings, etc.
  • Support the development of materials for the purpose of partnership and resource development, such as pitching materials and briefings.
  • Support high-level visits and IFRC’s representation at internal and external events and meetings.
  • Support other tasks related to partnership and resource development, as designated by the supervisor.

 

Duties applicable to all staff:

  • Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager.

Education

•    University degree in a relevant field is required.
•    Graduate-level degree in international relations, diplomacy, political science, or other related discipline is preferred.
•    Relevant professional training courses are preferred.

Experience

•    At least 3 years’ experience in project formulation and project management in a non-profit organization is required
•    Solid track record in proposal writing is required
•    Experience in coordination and partnership development is required
•    Experience of working in/with funding/grant giving organisations is required
•    Experience of working related to Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund is preferred.
