Job Summary:
The Operations Manager will oversee the entire logistics and delivery workflow. This role is responsible for ensuring that daily dispatch, fleet management, and last-mile delivery operations run efficiently, safely, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all operational activities, including route optimization and dispatch scheduling.
- Manage the fleet of vehicles, ensuring regular maintenance, fuel efficiency, and compliance with road safety regulations.
- Monitor delivery timelines and implement corrective measures to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Develop and manage the operational budget, reducing costs while maintaining service quality.
- Recruit, train, and supervise operational staff (drivers, dispatch riders, and warehouse assistants).
- Implement operational policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance productivity.
- Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure all drivers and vehicles have valid documentation and insurance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the logistics/courier industry.
- Strong knowledge of Ghanaian road networks and transportation laws.
- Proven leadership and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
