Role Overview
The Production Technician is responsible for operating assigned production machinery and ensuring it is maintained at all times to avoid any disruption in production. The role involves monitoring machine performance, carrying out first-line maintenance, and ensuring production targets are met in accordance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Start/stop assigned production machinery daily and routinely.
- Activate, monitor, and maintain assigned machinery to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
- Constantly monitor the performance of assigned machinery to learn, record, and report any anomalies to supervisors regarding sound, speed, and functionality.
- Responsible for lubrication application and machine operation.
- Review downtime reports and assist in plant conversions.
- Collaborate with R&D and Quality Assurance departments to maintain product standards.
- Submit production and maintenance reports as required.
- Carry out work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as specified by the Production Manager, Maintenance Manager, Quality Assurance, and equipment manufacturer.
- Be responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance schedules assigned to them.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, GMP, and all company and legal regulations.
- Maintain personal hygiene and good housekeeping, including general cleanliness at the workplace.
- Report all major operational activities and issues to the Production Supervisor regularly.
Qualifications & Requirements
- HND or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in FMCG.
- Experience with production machinery and automated production lines is an added advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge of production processes and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.
- Effective communication skills.
