Job Purpose
In this technically focused, customer-facing role, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, verifying and specifying spare parts requirements for quotation, procurement and fulfilment. Working closely with customers, engineers, suppliers and OEMs, interpret technical information from engineering drawings, service manuals, electronic catalogues and machine data to ensure the right parts are supplied first time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and verify spare parts for a wide range of equipment and machinery.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers and service engineers.
- Resolve complex or incomplete parts enquiries.
- Support improved equipment uptime, faster repairs and exceptional customer service.
- Liaise with the Head Office Warranty team to validate eligibility and progress claims in accordance with applicable OEM requirements.
- Track claims through validation and resolution, maintaining accurate records and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Verify relevant machine information, including model, serial number, commissioning or delivery details, operating hours, service history and applicable warranty coverage.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in spare parts identification using serial numbers, machine data, photographs and technical reports, technical support or equipment maintenance environments.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and customer service skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- A qualification in Mechanical, Automotive, Plant Engineering, Equipment Maintenance, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, powertrains, warranties, parts logistics and inventory management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, engineers, suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, OEM technical portals and electronic parts catalogues.
