JOB PURPOSE
To produce accurate technical drawings, material take-offs, and work packs that support the successful execution of energy and infrastructure projects. The role requires strong proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to translate engineering requirements into precise, actionable documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use of Computer-Aided Tools (AutoCAD) – Create, modify, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D drawings for project designs, layouts, and installations.
- Conduct Dimensional Control Surveys – Perform field measurements and surveys to verify dimensions, alignments, and site conditions, ensuring drawings reflect actual site parameters.
- Produce Drawings and Material Take-Offs (MTO) – Generate comprehensive drawings along with accurate material quantity estimates to support procurement, costing, and construction planning.
- Prepare Method Statements & Work Packs – Develop clear method statements and work packages that outline step‑by‑step procedures, safety protocols, and resource requirements for onsite activities.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure drawings and documents meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Revise drawings based on feedback, design changes, or site modifications, maintaining version control and documentation integrity.
- Ensure all deliverables are completed within project timelines and in compliance with quality and safety regulations.
REQUIRED JOB SPECIFICATION
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- Diploma or Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related technical field.
- Additional certifications in AutoCAD or other CAD software are a plus.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a Drafter or similar role, preferably in the energy, oil & gas, or construction sector.
- Proven hands‑on experience with AutoCAD (both 2D and 3D) is mandatory.
- Experience with dimensional control surveys and MTO preparation is highly desirable.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with other drafting tools (e.g., Revit, SolidWorks) is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, symbols, and scaling.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and calculations.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into clear visual outputs.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for preparing method statements and reports.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple drawing packages simultaneously.
- Problem‑solving mindset with a proactive approach to site‑related challenges.
